My Typical Day
Routine work, then projects the rest of the day
Routine work will be production and quality monitoring, identifying problems and solutions.
If we see opportunities to improve or change, we build a justification and get the cost. If we get the OK to spend money, we will build the solution as a team
What I'd do with the prize money
Contribute to science teaching in South america
There are incredible differences in wealth in the world. South America is a place where education can pull a whole family from poverty into what we would call a secure future, housing, food, education for children.

I had some great teachers at school and the science teachers were good fun, and knowlegeable

What did you want to be after you left school?
To be honest, I did not really know. I stayed to do A levels because I was not ready to choose a job
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Yes.I did not always do my work.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
I would work in farming or forestry; I love the outdoors and animals

Jimi Hendrix, a really talented musician
What's your favourite food?
Fish and seafood of any kind
What is the most fun thing you've done?
I learnt to scuba dive, and it's still fun now
