We can make some quite simple yet very important discoveries without the use of anything advanced. Learning about displacement of water (Archimedes’ principle), gravity via a falling apple, refraction of light with a prism of glass…these findings are as much about observing the world around us and interpreting it than anything else.
Sometimes people find important things just by sitting and watching, or thinking. For instance, we are still finding new types of insect and animals, we are finding medicines just by talking to people in remote parts of the world who have always know a certain plant was a good cure or something.
