My job at the moment is research – I think it’s really rewarding if you enjoy it. My recommendation would be to do something that you enjoy and that makes you happy.
There are potential Neuroscientists out there and they don’t know about their talent. So I would recommend people to try it and if they like it then they can pursue it.
I really like my job, so yes. But to do it, you need to enjoy doing it, as well as having the skills to do it, so I recognise that it isn’t right for everyone.
The best thing about my job is that every day is different, I have a degree of independence, my day has a lot of freedom and I can stop one job and do another if I get fed up or stuck (but only for a while – I still have to do everything) Compared to working in a shop, or production line – which I have also done, this beats them hands down.
I think my job is fun, but it is not for everyone. If you are interested then I recommend it, if you are not really interested, do you want to do it for years and years?
Yes – I’m currently working in Leeds, and Leeds is an excellent place to live. An ideal balance between a good-size city, and easy access to the countryside.
