This answer might require a religious answer. One male and female are responsible for creating a new set of children and then they start to multiply among themselves. There is a common story that people were all united in one language and country until they started to build a high tower which was not good enough for their creator. Then the creator caused division among them by making them speak in different languages so they were unable to progress.
Regards to race, A woman called Rebecca, wife to a man called Isaac had a set of twins that were different in colour.
But all this information is so complex for us to understand.

Very simply, groups of people can invent new words and ways of speaking – you see this when you listen to someone from say the USA, the inner London area. Imagine if these groups never spoke to each other for hundreds of years (even thousands); they would eventually not have the same language, but some words would be the same. Shakespears stories are difficult to understand, as the words are odd to us, but old English from a thousand years ago would just not be understood.
