We don’t necessarily have to – some bacteria is useful! For example, there are good bacteria that live inside you that help you digest your food – we wouldn’t want to beat these!

Otherwise, to help beat the bad bacteria, we have antibiotics and some dietary choices that can help us to resist them.

Odd question. Bacteria do wonderful things for us (cheese, yoghurt) but can also hurt us, disease.

Wash hands, washed or cooked food, cleaning is how we deal with bacteria which might make us ill, but in the end we need things like penicillins to stop bacteria in the wrong place, like cuts in our bodies
