I have been studying science for as long as I have been in school. But within 4 years in college/University one can be a scientist.
I was born in Nigeria and schooled there till I finished my Master’s degree in Pharmacology. I was so good that I passed my Ph.D. Admission Interview and came from Nigeria to study Neuroscience in England. I was invited to join Prescouter, USA; my employer due to my interesting research area been of interest to their company. From Bachelors, to Masters, to PhD, I will say a total of 9-10 years has been invested in studying science.
I’ve been doing science quite a long time now… I started at school, carried on at university (4 years), stayed on at university for a PhD (4 more years), and have now spent 5 years working as a research scientist (also still at university – I’ve never really left!). But in that time, they way you study science changes a lot, from learning what we already know, to trying to work out what we don’t know and how we can go about finding it out.
I’d like to think I’m pretty good (which sounds a bit arrogant…), but as a scientist, you’re really judged on what work you’ve done, and what the other scientists working on the same topics think of that work, so you’d have to ask some of them!
Hi, I studied at school , and then had a couple of years out- doing other jobs. I came back to science when I was 20, and then have been working and studying ever since ( over 20 years now!)
I’ve been studying science for about 23 years, since I was at school. I’d say I do reasonably well, but I have to put a lot of work in to achieve the things I do. I found it a lot harder at school, but now that I’ve found something I really enjoy doing, it’s a lot easier to work at it.
I have studied all my life, since school and at work. I am a long way from being a genius, but I can do my work very well, because I am still willing to learn new things, and admit mistakes – absolutely essential for a scientist
I’ve been studying science since I was at school, so since I was about 7 (and I’m 30 now!) What changed for me is the type of science I study – so at school, I studied physics and chemistry, but now I study relationships between animals and the environment – we call this ecology.
