I chose history, geography, and latin. We also had a number of other subjects we had to study – maths, physics, chemistry, biology, english and french.
I studied Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Further Maths (Calculus), Economics, French, Yoruba and Hausa(Nigerian Languages).
I schooled in Nigeria for secondary school, but I chose to do science because anywhere in the world science is the same, the equations never change. With causes like Law, Medicine, e.t.c you may study in England and not be able to practice in America because the rules and conduct of the profession differ. You will have to start learning all over again in a new country if you relocate.
I focused on sciences for A Levels – Maths, physics, chemistry, geology. Before that, though, I tried to cover as broad a range of subjects as possible. If I could go back and do it again, I’d probably try and carry on with a language to A level – its a skill that is highly under-rated in the UK, but I think we’re really behind the rest of the world on the languages front, and its a really useful life skills, given how international we all are, now!
