• Question: What is the most difficult situation you have come across

      I found using statistics very difficult. I didn’t get taught much about it at school, so when I had to use it at university, I found it quite hard. Luckily, I work with a couple of people who are very good at it, so they were able to help me. It’s always a good idea to talk to people if you are stuck with something.

      People, and their different ideas and needs. As a scientist you might have marvellous plans to create something new, but in the end you have to get people to work with you, agree to help, give you money, time and space to do it. Now just consider all these people have good ideas and want your help – so you learn to get on with each other and do your best even when you think something might fail; because hey ho it might be be that just one of all those ideas is fantastic
