Question: whats the worst earthquake you have studied in your career

I’ve worked on some of the aftershocks from the 2004 Boxing Day earthquake in Sumatra. That was the earthquake behind the Indian Ocean tsunami, which resulted a huge amount of damage and casualties in a whole range of countries. We need to understand things like this better, so we can be better prepared for them in the future.
